A Luxurious Escape at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit

When I arrived at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, I was ready to unplug from everyday life, but I had no idea just how relaxed and spoiled I would feel by the end of my stay. I have stayed at many all-inclusive resorts over the years, and I can honestly say this experience felt different. Not just because it was luxurious, but because everything felt thoughtful and calm, which is exactly what I had been craving.

The first thing I noticed was how peaceful the resort felt. I am someone who truly enjoys quiet moments by the pool or beach, and I cannot tell you how refreshing it was to lounge without loud speakers blasting music. Instead of distractions, I had the sound of the ocean, the warmth of the sun, and a book in hand that I could actually focus on.  I spent my first afternoon stretched out on a lounger with a cocktail in hand, and I remember thinking, this is exactly what a vacation should feel like.

Speaking of cocktails and mocktails, I made it my mission to try a new one every day. My favourite was a twist on a margarita that tasted fresh and bright, without being overly sweet. I also tried a mojito one afternoon and could taste the mint and lime in a way that made it feel like the perfect beach drink. Normally, I am not someone who makes a big deal about cocktails, but here I found myself looking forward to them, especially in the evenings as the sunset.

The food was equally memorable. I genuinely enjoyed every meal I had, and I still think about a few of the dishes. I dined at the Mexican Restaurant and the Asian, both were real culinary experiences, the kind you expect at a standalone fine dining restaurant, not an all-inclusive resort. I also had a simple lunch of fresh ceviche and guacamole one day and it was exactly what I wanted, light and full of flavor. I appreciated that whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the food felt intentional and not something that was mass-produced.

The service throughout my stay made me feel taken care of without being hovered over. The staff seemed to always know when to offer help and when to let me enjoy the quiet. I remember returning to my suite after spending time at the pool and finding everything perfectly organized.  I had left some items on my dresser and when I returned, everything was neatly folded and organized (I’m embarrassed to admit that they even folded my socks).

 

My suite became my sanctuary. I loved waking up to the view of the ocean and having my morning coffee on the terrace and the room service.  My suite was spacious and comfortable, and after long days relaxing, it felt like the perfect place to return to and completely unwind.

What I appreciated most about this trip was the balance it offered. I indulged in incredible food and drinks, enjoyed attentive service, and still felt like I had my own space to breathe. There were no party crowds, no chaos, and no pressure to be anywhere or do anything.

I left Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit feeling relaxed in a way I had not felt in a long time. The combination of tranquillity, luxury, and genuinely enjoyable food and drinks made it one of my favourite vacations, and I would go back in a heartbeat.
