There’s something special about Aruba that keeps travellers coming back year after year.  After my recent and third visit, I’m reminded exactly why. With its endless sunshine, warm hospitality, and stunning coastline, Aruba continues to be one of the Caribbean’s most popular destinations.

On my most recent trip to Aruba, I conducted three hotel inspections, each offering something unique for every type of traveller. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or just need a break, these properties are worth visiting. Here is what I learned:

Riu Palace Aruba – Family-Friendly, All-Inclusive, and Getting a Fresh New Look

Located on the beautiful shores of Palm Beach, Riu Palace Aruba remains a favourite resort for families seeking an all-inclusive experience with plenty of space and activities for all ages.

The resort is currently undergoing a major renovation that will completely elevate its look and feel. One of the towers has already been beautifully updated, giving a glimpse of what’s to come. The main building will begin its transformation in September 2025. The full renovation is expected to be complete by the end of 2026. Guests can look forward to refreshed rooms, updated public spaces, and the same warm service that Aruba is known for.

Riu Palace Antillas – Adults-Only Elegance with an Exclusive Twist

Just next door, RIU Palace Antillas offers an adults-only escape that combines beachfront beauty with elevated service. Adults staying at the Riu Antillas also have access to the Riu Palace Aruba.

A standout feature on this visit was the resort’s new Exclusive Club level. This upgrade includes a private check-in area, access to a members-only bar/lounge, and a dedicated restaurant for dinner. All rooms that are part of the Club are gorgeous oceanfront suites, each with a private balcony overlooking the pristine Palm Beach.

For those seeking an adults-only, all-inclusive experience with premium perks, Riu Antillas’ Exclusive Club is a fantastic option.

JOIA Aruba by Iberostar – A Stunning New Addition on Eagle Beach

The newest resort on the island is JOIA Aruba by Iberostar, a breathtaking resort that just opened its doors on Eagle Beach. This 254-room, family-friendly resort is all about blending modern design with luxury comfort. All rooms offer ocean views, and select suites come with swim-out access.

With three swimming pools, four delicious on-site restaurants, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and Spa, JOIA is an excellent choice for families looking for something fresh, stylish, and beachfront. This resort is not all-inclusive, however offers onsite dining and nearby places to eat.
